Trying a new group can bring up a lot of questions: Will I know anyone? What will the gathering be like? How do I join a conversation?
Charlotte Together brings people together at in-person events around shared activities. The format, venue, and group vary, so the event listing is the best place to see what is coming up and decide what suits you.
Start with something you enjoy
Browse the current events and choose an activity that interests you. Read the listing for the time, location, cost, and any arrival notes. You do not need a perfect reason to go; being curious about the activity is enough.
At your first event
Arrive around the posted start time unless the listing says otherwise. Give yourself a moment to find the gathering area. If you have a question, check the event details or ask the host when you find them.
You can join a game, try an activity, or start with a simple introduction. A question about the event is an easy opener: “Have you been to one of these before?” or “What made you choose this activity?” Listen, share a little about yourself, and let the conversation find its pace.
If you need a break, take one. It is fine to leave when you are ready.
